Leadership in the Mexican Mobility Industry

Liliana Anaya, General Director of AMAVe, discusses the transformation of the Mexican automotive sector. She highlights the role of women in developing sustainable mobility, electric vehicles, and digitalization, and calls for a safer and more inclusive transportation system.

Liliana Anaya, General Director of the Mexican Association of Vehicle Lessors (AMAVe), believes that leadership does not depend on gender, but on the ability to achieve results. She called for viewing the sector not as a limited space, but as an opportunity for innovation, transforming cities, and building the future. Under her leadership, the industry is advancing towards sustainable mobility and opening doors for more women. Anaya notes that an increasing number of women are participating in strategic areas such as innovation, sustainability, technology, and fleet management. She believes the industry is undergoing a profound shift: a move from ownership to usage. To address gender equality challenges, it is crucial to consider the more complex and multifaceted mobility patterns of women, designing more flexible, safe, and intermodal solutions. Anaya emphasizes that the industry's transformation will also be cultural, and she calls on the younger generation to join it. She sees electromobility as an opportunity to improve transport quality, reduce emissions, and modernize fleet management, while creating new professional opportunities for women in engineering, data analysis, and sustainability.
