Over 200,000 people benefit from preferential fare in Querétaro

The State Mobility Agency of Querétaro (Ameq) reported that the number of beneficiaries of the 'Tarifa Unidos' program has exceeded 200,000. This program provides a preferential fare of 2 pesos per trip on the Qrobus system for populations such as students, older adults, and people with disabilities. The agency's director, Gerardo Cuanalo, highlighted that this figure was reached during the first quarter of the year, thanks to the expansion of public transportation coverage in Querétaro, Corregidora, El Marqués, Huimilpan, and San Juan del Río. 'The truth is that it is a very important figure, it is the most important social program of the entire state government. And this program gives certain people the ability to pay 2 pesos for public transportation, not only in Querétaro, but also in San Juan del Río,' he said. Cuanalo Santos recalled that last February a new Qrobus bonus was launched for these users, so they can make unlimited trips for a month for a fixed fee of 86 pesos. The head of Ameq emphasized that 'Tarifa Unidos' also benefits community service sectors, such as medical personnel, police, elements of the Secretariat of National Defense, firefighters, teachers, and unionized workers from local and federal dependencies.
