The government of Mexico has enabled a portal to speed up the procedures that tourism service providers in the country must carry out, heading towards the FIFA World Cup 2026. The portal, called 'Tourism Procedures Window,' allows tourism promoters to perform, in a 100% online, secure, and cost-free manner, the necessary procedures to comply with current regulations and keep their registration updated in the National Tourism Registry (RNT). The initiative was driven by the Ministry of Tourism, in coordination with the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications (ATDT), according to a statement from the aforementioned department. The objective of this tool is to facilitate the opening, operation, and regularization of tourism businesses in the country through a digital platform that allows for simple, secure, and free-of-charge procedures without the need to go to offices. This platform, enabled less than three months before the start of the 2026 World Cup to be held in Mexico, Canada, and the United States, will concentrate all tourism-related procedures in a single site, representing a decisive step towards the modernization of public management and administrative simplification. Access is via Llave MX, the official digital authentication mechanism of the Government of Mexico, which guarantees security, identity verification, and traceability in each request, they state in the document. The 'Tourism Procedures Window' is already available to facilitate registrations. Users can track the status of their requests in real-time, have greater clarity on the requirements, steps, and necessary documentation, as well as receive attention in both virtual and in-person modalities, with the support of authorized personnel. The National Tourism Registry (RNT) is a mandatory public registry that contains the information of all tourism service providers in the country, whose permanent update allows authorities to have reliable data, strengthen institutional communication, and promote an orderly and competitive tourism development. The 'Tourism Procedures Window' will serve individuals and legal entities in the sector—including hotels, travel agencies, tourist transporters, tour operators, tourist guides, among others—across the 32 states of the Republic. Among the available procedures are the request for a 'Certificate of Registration in the RNT,' with a two-year validity, as well as the 'Notice of Closure of Operations,' both free of charge and with reduced processing times. In a first phase, the platform concentrates on procedures related to the National Tourism Registry (RNT); however, other sector processes will progressively be incorporated, such as hotel classification and the national quality tourism distinction, among others, with the purpose of expanding its scope and consolidating it as an integral tool for tourism management in Mexico.
