Current rates come from the adjustment applied by CAPUFE in 2025, and to date, no general increase has been announced for 2026, so these costs remain in effect. However, there is a little-known fact that breaks this logic: in the country, there are tolls that cost just a few coins. According to the current rates of Federal Roads and Bridges (CAPUFE), corresponding to the 2025 update and still applicable in 2026, the cheapest toll in Mexico has a surprisingly low minimum cost. The cheapest toll in Mexico costs only 3 pesos. According to the official CAPUFE table, the lowest recorded rate is: 3 pesos for automobiles. This charge corresponds to the stretch: Lago de Guadalupe – Entronque San Miguel, located in the State of Mexico. It is a very short segment within an urban highway in the northern area of the Valley of Mexico, used mainly as a local connection route between municipalities. Keep in mind that this symbolic tariff is only valid for that specific stretch; if your route extends to Lechería or Chamapa, the price rises slightly to a range of between 8 and 10 pesos. Where is this toll and why is it so cheap? This stretch is located in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico, in an area that connects roadways near: Cuautitlán Izcalli, Tultitlán, Periférico Norte. As it is not a long-distance highway, but rather an access or quick connection between nearby points, the cost is practically symbolic. Unlike routes such as the Highway of the Sun, where hundreds of kilometers are traveled, this type of toll covers minimal distances, which explains its low price. From 3 to over 600 pesos: the contrast in Mexico. While this toll costs only 3 pesos, other routes in the country have much higher costs.
