Sonora State Expands Electricity Subsidy for Households

The government of Sonora has reached an agreement to expand the electricity subsidy for residents. Starting April 1st, tariff 1F will be applied in all municipalities of the state. This allows for greater kilowatt consumption at preferential costs, directly supporting Sonoran households during high temperatures. The current scheme expands the subsidized range and eliminates tariff conditions that previously made the service more expensive. This enables families to maintain the necessary use of ventilation and cooling without it representing a severe blow to their economy. Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño reiterated that his government maintains social well-being as a priority and will continue to implement measures that benefit the population, especially those in greatest need. "It is necessary to make responsible consumption," the head of the state executive branch emphasized. The ranges of consumption were also modified, from 4 to 3, so that they can use more kilowatts at a lower price.
