State of Mexico Surpasses 55 Million Free Public Transport Trips

The State of Mexico has reached a significant milestone, providing over 55 million free trips and transfers in Mexibús and Mexicable systems. This social program, initiated by Governor Delfina Gómez, supports vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, seniors, and families with young children, with over 545 million pesos allocated for its implementation.


State of Mexico Surpasses 55 Million Free Public Transport Trips

During the governorship of Delfina Gómez Álvarez, the State of Mexico surpassed 55 million free trips and free transfers in the Mexibús and Mexicable systems, benefiting vulnerable groups. According to the state government, this strategy, implemented a year and nine months ago, has strengthened access to public transport for people with disabilities, older adults, as well as girls and boys under five years of age. Of the total of 55 million 97,000 trips recorded, 27 million 598 thousand 245 were free, while 27 million 499 thousand 587 corresponded to free transfers between the different system lines in the Valley of Mexico. For its operation, 545 million 365 thousand 614 pesos have been allocated, with the aim of supporting family economies and facilitating the daily mobility of the people of the State of Mexico. In addition to these benefits, the Mexiquense Trolleybus has provided more than 1 million 765 thousand free trips since its launch, expanding the program's coverage. The state government highlighted that these actions are part of a social policy aimed at improving the population's quality of life through accessible, modern, and safe public transport.
