The proposal includes the 'Initiative for the Protection and Promotion of the Wine Industry' and amendments to the 'Law for the Promotion of Competitiveness and Economic Development', aiming to consolidate wine as a driver of growth, job creation, and international projection. 100% Tax Stimulus for Local Producers One of the key points of the initiative is the implementation of a 100% tax stimulus on the 'State Tax on the Final Sale of Alcoholic Beverages' for companies producing in Baja California. The Secretary of the Treasury, Andrés Pulido Saavedra, highlighted that this measure seeks to strengthen local producers, provide legal certainty, and reinforce regional identity against imported beverages or those from other entities. State Wine Council Created The proposal also includes the creation of the 'State Wine Council', a coordinating body between the government and the private sector, which will aim to: Promote the competitiveness of Baja California wine, Promote enotourism, Guarantee product quality and traceability, Position wine in national and international markets. Boost for Enotourism and Local Economy The state governor stated that this initiative will be sent to the local congress for approval in the short term and will benefit the entire productive chain of the sector. 'The objective is for winegrowers and winemakers to benefit throughout the commercial chain,' she affirmed. The project is the result of joint work by the Secretariats of the Treasury, Economy, and Tourism, the State Legal Advisory, and representatives of the wine industry.
