Mexico Releases Tax Filing Calendar for 2025

Mexico's SAT has released a color-coded calendar indicating low and high traffic days for the 2025 tax filing season. Experts advise avoiding the end of the month to prevent technical failures.

The Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT) has published a calendar to help individuals determine the best days to file their 2025 annual tax return. The calendar, based on past years' statistics, uses a color-coding system to indicate portal saturation. Green means low traffic, yellow medium, orange high, and red extreme. For instance, low-traffic dates are April 11-12 and April 16-19. Conversely, dates with extreme saturation (red) are April 1, 29, and 30. Experts warn that waiting until the last days to file can lead to serious technical issues. Javier de los Santos Valero, president of the National Tax Commission of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP), gave a personal example, stating it took him nearly two hours to successfully file a return on the first of the month, a day marked as having extreme saturation. He emphasized that the system often cannot handle the volume of users and urged citizens to file their returns in advance to avoid 'bottlenecks'.
