The Government has announced the implementation of the Universal Scholarship Rita Cetina Gutiérrez, which will be available to all basic education students starting in 2025, beginning with the secondary level. This scholarship will consist of a financial support of $1,900 bi-monthly per family, with an extra $700 for each additional daughter or son.

The Ministry of Public Education has established that starting from November 11, the online registration process will begin for the Rita Cetina Gutiérrez Scholarship. The registration will require the presentation of various documents, both from the student (birth certificate, CURP, proof of studies) and from the parent, guardian, or tutor (official identification, CURP, proof of residence).

The benefit of the 'Rita Cetina Gutiérrez' Scholarship will be added to the 'Benito Juárez' Welfare Scholarships, which have been providing support to students in poverty situations at basic education levels since 2019. The goal now is to achieve progressive universal coverage.

Mario Delgado, head of the Ministry of Public Education, has detailed that this scholarship will positively impact 21.4 million students in preschool, primary, and secondary education. Informational assemblies have been held with parents and guardians to inform them about the registration and delivery process of the scholarship, which will begin on November 11 with secondary students.

The call for applications and online registration will be open until December 18, with the delivery of cards scheduled for early 2025. The main objective of the 'Rita Cetina Gutiérrez' Scholarship is to provide financial support to families of students to ensure their retention in the educational system, starting with 5.6 million beneficiaries at the secondary level.
