Gasoline Prices in Mexico Increase Despite Oil Drop

Gasoline prices in Mexico remain high despite a decrease in international oil prices. Consumers are encouraged to report overpriced gas stations to the Profeco for fair pricing.


Gasoline Prices in Mexico Increase Despite Oil Drop

In Mexico City, the price of gasoline varies at different gas stations. The most expensive is sold at the one located at Canal de Miramontes 2762, Coyoacán municipality, at 26.19 pesos per liter. Meanwhile, the cheapest Diesel is found at the gas station on Canal de San Juan 6, Iztapalapa municipality, at 23.91 pesos per liter; on the other hand, the most expensive Diesel is located on Autopista México-Cuernavaca 4367, also in Iztapalapa, selling at 25.99 per liter.

The Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) has informed that consumers have the possibility to report high gasoline prices. To make a complaint, you can access the official Profeco website or call the phone number 55 55 68 87 22.

Regarding average fuel prices in Mexico, Magna costs 24 pesos per liter, Premium is sold at 25.40 pesos per liter, and Diesel at 25.56 pesos per liter. Nationally, places have been identified where the cheapest gasoline can be found, such as in Zapopan, Jalisco, Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Aguascalientes, Toluca, State of Mexico, and Mérida, Yucatán.

In Mexico City, the average price of Magna is 24 pesos per liter, Premium is sold at 25.63 pesos per liter, and Diesel at 24.98 pesos per liter. In that same city, the most accessible Magna gasoline can be purchased at the gas station located at Calzada Peña and Peña 86, Venustiano Carranza municipality, at 22.17 pesos per liter, while the most expensive is found at the gas station on Avenida Luis Cabrera 480, in the Magdalena Contreras municipality, at 24.99 pesos per liter. Regarding Premium gasoline, the lowest price is found at the same service station on Calzada Peña and Peña 86, offered at 23.11 pesos per liter. It is important to remember that gasoline prices are regulated and should not be higher than allowed.
