
During the third quarter of this year, Grupo Televisa, the Mexican media giant, reported revenues of 15,363 million pesos, mainly driven by its Broadband, Voice, and Mobile Services business segment. In this period, net additions in the Broadband business were 11.3 thousand, in line with previous quarters. The broadcaster also highlighted that it ended the quarter with approximately 323 thousand subscribers in its Mobile business and reached 55.5 thousand video subscribers.
In its report to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), Grupo Televisa stated that its operating cash flow (EBITDA) reached 5,337 million pesos, which represented a growth of 4.5% compared to the same period last year. The company plans to continue strengthening its market position by making new investments in its various business segments, maintaining profitability and financial discipline.
Grupo Televisa's net income at the end of the third quarter was 671 million pesos, which will allow for the analysis of opportunities to expand its business. Additionally, the Board of Directors approved the proposal of Emilio Azcárraga Jean, the executive chairman of the Board, to take a leave of absence while an investigation related to FIFA is being conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice.
"Grupo Televisa approved a proposal from Mr. Emilio Azcárraga Jean, executive chairman of the Board, to take a leave of absence, effective immediately, while the investigation being conducted by the United States Department of Justice related to FIFA is resolved," the company reported. Grupo Televisa will continue to cooperate with the authorities while the investigation is ongoing.
