New Vehicle Verification Program in Jalisco

The future Secretary of Public Finance of Jalisco, Luis García Sotelo, presented the 3x1 Package of the administration led by Pablo Lemus. The program aims to facilitate and improve vehicle control in the entity. One of the main measures highlighted is the implementation of a policy that will offer a free second chance to vehicles that do not pass the verification on the first attempt.

García Sotelo explained that this new program seeks to provide free verifications and renew the licenses of vehicles with enhanced security measures. For those cars that do not manage to pass the verification after several attempts, a special program is planned where the vehicle will not be taken off the road.

Vehicle owners who pay the annual vehicle registration fee will receive a subsidy from the State to cover responsible verification. In case they do not pass on the second attempt, they will need to make the necessary repairs to obtain certification. Additionally, they will also be required to change their plates to ones that comply with identification and security standards.

García Sotelo emphasized: 'We do not seek to complicate the lives of citizens. This program is designed to facilitate the verification process, offering a subsidy that will help cover its cost.' Despite being a general plan, particular cases of citizens who may face difficulties with verification will also be addressed, the official pointed out.
