The Federal Government plans to allocate a budget of 172 billion 960 million pesos to Jalisco for the year 2025. The next Secretary of Public Finance of Jalisco, Luis García Sotelo, has demanded fair treatment from the Federation and that they commit to what is theirs. He emphasized the importance of not neglecting federal roads, health programs, and education in general.
In an interview with Publimetro, García Sotelo stated: "What we do believe is that there are some functions where the Federation has stopped investing, putting money even though it is their responsibility, and what we seek is for everyone to do their part, for the federation not to abandon federal roads, not to abandon health and education."
Regarding the handover process from the administration of Enrique Alfaro, the next secretary highlighted that they will receive healthy finances: "In general terms, Jalisco has managed healthy public finances, as indicated by the indicators of the Federal Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, which establish Jalisco as one of the states with all indicators in green, which means that it tends to have fiscal sustainability over time and has strong fiscal resources."
On the other hand, Pablo Lemus, the elected governor of Jalisco, expressed through his social media that he will seek budgetary justice for the entity and that he will meet with the Jalisco congresswoman Mery Pozos, president of the budget committee of the Chamber of Deputies, and with all legislators regardless of political party.
It is expected that in the near future, when Pablo Lemus takes office and talks with the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, they will be able to adjust budgets to meet the needs of Jalisco.
