The Draft Budget for Expenditures of the Federation for the year 2025 contemplates an allocation of resources totaling 9 trillion 226 billion 200 million pesos. This budget represents an increase of 1.6% compared to the previous year. Within this budget, significant increases are observed for some agencies, while others suffer substantial reductions in their allocations.

Among the most notable increases is the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), which will receive an increase of 183% in its resources, reaching a total of 38 billion 048 million pesos. Likewise, the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) will see an increase of 72%, reaching 140 billion 709 million pesos. The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) also stands out with a 6% increase, totaling 525 billion 615 million pesos.

On the other hand, some agencies will experience significant reductions in their budgets. An example of this is the Secretariat of Welfare, which will suffer a decrease of 32.9%, leaving it with 173 million pesos. The Secretariat of Energy will also see a reduction of 36.2%, reaching 70 billion 442 million pesos. In the case of the Secretariat of Health, a cut of 30.8% will be applied, reaching 12 billion 081 million pesos.

In the realm of autonomous agencies, it is notable that despite the intention to eliminate or merge seven of them, five managed to secure resources for the next year. Among these are the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Cofece), the National Institute for Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (Inai), the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), and the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH).

In summary, the budget for the year 2025 reflects significant changes in the allocation of resources for various agencies and autonomous bodies. While some see substantial increases in their budgets, others face important reductions, which will imply new challenges and adjustments in their operations for the next year.
