Los Cabos Launches Immersive Virtual Experience

The tourist destination Los Cabos has unveiled its new virtual space, an immersive museum consisting of four outdoor domes and a main hall. Through this digital environment, visitors can explore the activities that make the region vibrant: gastronomy, art, culture, sustainability, golf, and nature. It is emphasized that this digital platform offers the opportunity for individuals from different generations to discover and rediscover what Los Cabos has to offer, preparing them to live iconic experiences.

Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of FITURCA, commented: "New immersive digital ecosystem, new travel experience." This project arises as a result of five years of work and is designed to strengthen the regional tourism industry.

The immersive platform, redesigned under the pillars of inclusion, digital experiences, and immersive visual storytelling, offers enhanced features, such as greater accessibility thanks to the partnership with AudioEye. Individuals without Meta's virtual reality glasses can access as guests.

Another significant innovation is the renovation of the digital ecosystem Visit Los Cabos, aimed at changing how travelers experience the diverse tourism offerings of the region. This new standard in Mexico leverages technology to create an inclusive, accessible, and personalized digital ecosystem, representing a novel tool in Latin America.

To enjoy this digital experience, the use of Oculus 2 or 3 virtual reality glasses is required. Augmented reality has gained relevance in tourism by allowing individuals to explore destinations in an interactive and entertaining way.

The Los Cabos Tourism Trust has ventured into the metaverse in collaboration with Nostra, with the aim of attracting visitors from around the world. Among the prominent features are AI-powered recommendations, itinerary planning tools, and curated content showcasing the diversity of experiences Los Cabos has to offer.

In this regard, sections dedicated to specific travel styles have been created, such as rural tourism, wellness, sustainability, and gastronomy. The images and videos were taken by photographer Ben Horton, who captured the natural beauty of the destination in each shot, providing a realistic visual representation. Accessibility for users is enhanced with the AudioEye toolbar that allows customization of the experience through contrast, text size, and font adjustments.
