The Chinese New Year Cultural Festival at the National Center for the Arts will celebrate its fourth edition with various cultural activities. The duo Tsiskari, composed of soprano Sophie Gordeladze and guitarist Antonio López Palacios, will perform at the Gandhi Bookstore on Miguel Ángel de Quevedo on Sunday, January 26.
The artists will tour various locations in Mexico, sharing a varied musical repertoire that includes works by classical composers such as Brahms and Mozart, as well as Georgian, Ibero-American music, and contemporary authors. The union of their talents in voice and guitar aims to convey emotions through music.
Additionally, the duo Tsiskari will continue its tour with concerts alongside the Acapulco Symphony Orchestra and will conclude its performances on February 15 at the Gandhi Bookstore Mauricio Achar in Coyoacán. For more details about the programming, one can access the events calendar on the CENART website.
The Chinese New Year Cultural Festival will feature workshops, lectures, exhibitions, sports activities, Chinese martial arts, cuisine, and traditional dance performances. On this occasion, there will be a music and dance show from the City of Ningbo, Zhejiang, with the participation of more than 15 artists.
The representative sign for this year will be the "Wooden Snake," which according to the Chinese zodiac heralds a period of self-reflection and reinvention. Additionally, the presence of Shi Yan Xu, a Shaolin monk, is expected, with demonstrations of Chinese martial arts and a lecture on Qi gong as a medicinal art.
