Conflict over Insecurity and Provisional Prosecutor in Nuevo León

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted the lack of coordination in security matters in Nuevo León during her morning conference. In particular, she mentioned the absence of a designated prosecutor and the conflicting relationship between the prosecutor's office and the Civil Force of this state.

According to the president, prosecutor Pedro Arce Jardón does not respond to the executive's calls and is accused of having ties to the PRI, which complicates communication and collaboration on security issues. Despite this, recently the interim prosecutor, along with the security secretary of Nuevo León, met with the federal security secretary to report on their work.

The Prosecutor's Office of Nuevo León faces more than 2,000 pending cases, a situation attributed to the political conflict that has prevented the appointment of a permanent head for several years. The president emphasized the need to separate security and justice from political interests to ensure peace in the region.
