A train from the Ferrovalle company derailed on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in the municipality of Cuautitlán, State of Mexico, causing two of its cars to collide with the perimeter wall of the municipal police offices. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities in the incident, according to local authorities.
The accident occurred due to a rear-end collision between the two cars during operational maneuvers. Despite significant material damage to the perimeter wall of the facilities, no injuries were reported. Emergency units such as firefighters and civil protection responded immediately to the scene to secure the area and coordinate assistance efforts, ensuring the safety of potential affected individuals.
The municipal president, Juanita Carrillo, is supervising operations at the site and is in constant communication with authorities to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. The removal of the train may take several hours due to the complexity and weight of the unit, requiring the intervention of specialized equipment.
An investigation will be conducted to determine the causes of the derailment and collision of the cars, which apparently was due to a failure in the direction change. The arrival of specialized machinery is expected in the coming hours to clear the tracks and restore rail service. Local authorities are taking precautions to prevent further incidents and normalize service in the region as soon as possible.
