April 20 is an internationally recognized date for marijuana consumers. Various events and demonstrations advocating for its legalization take place around the world. In Mexico, the Mexican Cannabis Movement issued a statement to clarify whether the "March 420" will be held on this date or on a different day, due to confusion among participants.
The movement expressed its opposition to cannabis prohibition, arguing that it restricts its medicinal use and industrial potential. Despite the support from the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, members of this collective continue to advocate for decriminalization and invite people to join the scheduled activities.
Globally, World Marijuana Day is commemorated on April 20, marking the beginning of two weeks of activities that culminate on May 3. On this last date, marches will take place throughout Mexico in defense of cannabis legalization, with 4/20 being an emblematic day for the cannabis community, representing resistance and activism in this cause.
The organizers clarified that while April 20 is a day of celebration, with a more festive focus from consumers, the most organized and far-reaching demonstrations will take place on May 3. In this sense, they invited individuals, organizations, and collectives to join the marches that will take place in various locations in the country and around the world in favor of free access to cannabis and marijuana.
