A train derailment in Mexico has left 20 people injured. The incident occurred on the Transístmico train along Line Z in the state of Oaxaca. The train was carrying 9 crew members and 241 passengers. The injured individuals are being transported to local hospitals for medical attention. Emergency response includes five ground ambulances, one air ambulance, and approximately 40 naval health agents. Rescue operations are underway to assist individuals who fell from a seven-meter embankment. The Attorney General's office, led by Ernestina Godoy, has launched an investigation into the causes of the accident, with criminal investigation agents coordinating with federal and state authorities. Oaxaca Governor Salomón Jara had previously reported 15 injured individuals who were attended to immediately following emergency protocols. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that authorities are monitoring the situation and are ready to support users of the Interoceanic Corridor.
