Shooting in Monterrey's City Center: Seven Injured

Panic seized the center of Monterrey city after a shooting broke out on Juárez Avenue between Modesto Arreola and Aramberri, one of the city's busiest areas, at 6:00 PM. The shooting resulted in at least six women and one man, uninvolved in the incident, being injured, as reported by Monterrey's Secretary of Security, Eduardo Sánchez Quiroz. Meanwhile, Red Cross elements assisted the injured inside a food store, with two of them being transported to various hospitals. Monterrey Police quickly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to secure evidence. Authorities stated the shooting occurred between four individuals, aged 18 to 25, who started a foot chase on Aramberri Street towards Cuauhtémoc Avenue. Juárez Avenue was closed by municipal authorities as they launched their investigation. So far, no one has been detained. Months ago, another shooting occurred in a nearby area, but it was during the early morning hours, and officials stated it was carried out by a small criminal group; unofficially, they were known as "Los Costales".
