Mexico City, Feb 8. A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Mexico this Sunday at 15:42 local time (21:42 GMT) and was reported as "imperceptible," according to the National Seismological Service (SSN). The earthquake's epicenter was located northwest of Puerto Escondido, in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, and no material damage or human losses have been recorded, nor was there a significant impact in Mexico City. "We have no reports of damage or injuries (...) All basic services are functioning normally in the state," said Manuel Alberto Maza, director of civil protection for Oaxaca.
