Monday's 'Hoy No Circula' Traffic Rules in Mexico City

Mexico City has a traffic regulation known as Hoy No Circula, aimed at preventing, minimizing, and controlling pollutant emissions. To standardize and reduce the impact on the Megalopolis, which includes Mexico City and the State of Mexico, this measure was established to limit the circulation of private vehicles, regardless of their license plate origin. This Monday, vehicles with a hologram of verification 1 and 2, as well as those with a yellow sticker and license plates ending in 5 and 6, are not allowed to circulate. Exempt from restrictions are vehicles with holograms 0 and 00, electric and hybrid cars, motorcycles, vehicles driven by healthcare personnel, and cars with disabled license plates. The Hoy No Circula restriction is in effect from 05:00 to 22:00 hours. Non-compliance can result in a fine ranging from 2,075 to 3,112 pesos. The only day when the Hoy No Circula program does not apply to any vehicle is Sunday.
