Nothing But Thieves Returns to Mexico for New Shows

The British band Nothing But Thieves returns to Mexico for two key shows: on March 28 at Tecate Pa’l Norte in Monterrey, and on March 31 at Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City. This marks a pivotal moment in the band's evolution, known for a sound that blends alternative rock, electronic elements, and emotional intensity. Frontman Conor Mason discussed the significance of returning, expectations for these shows, and the band's current creative phase.

Mason reflects on the duality of playing festivals versus headline shows, two distinct yet equally stimulating experiences. "I don't know exactly what it is, but you can feel it," he admits. He highlights the challenge of crafting a setlist that satisfies both longtime fans and the band itself: "We have a long list and we change it depending on the place. The goal is to play the hits to make people happy, but also to include songs we haven't played as much to keep it feeling fresh."

The connection with the Mexican audience is unique for Nothing But Thieves. Mason notes the intensity and emotional bond with local fans: "The Mexican audience is very intense. Often, the crowd pushes us, and that's incredible. There's something about how people connect with music in Latin America." He also wants to introduce the band to new listeners: "Not everyone knows us or is a fan, so I like to show who we are to new people."

Despite their growing success, the band is focused on the future. Mason teases new music: "We're working on things right now... I can't say much, but people are close to being able to hear it. If you like our rock side more, you're going to love what's coming." The band is committed to growth and is willing to put in the work to play in larger venues.
