The Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado Carrillo, informed that the spring break period for 28.9 million students of Basic and Middle Education will begin on Monday, March 30, across the country, in accordance with the School Calendar 2025-2026 in effect in the 32 states. He detailed that during this period, 252,800 public and private schools will be on recess from March 30 to April 10, resuming activities on Monday, April 13, which guarantees an orderly and simultaneous break at the different educational levels. He specified that in Basic Education, 23.4 million students and more than 1.2 million teachers from 231,700 public and private schools of preschool, primary, and secondary education will enter class recess on the dates indicated and return to the classrooms on April 13. The head of the SEP invited girls, boys, adolescents, young people, mothers, and fathers to take advantage of these vacations and visit the Living Museum of Muralism (MVM), which offers many alternatives for entertainment and culture. Breaks in Middle and Higher Education In the case of Middle Education, he pointed out that almost 5.5 million students, along with more than 421,000 teachers from 21,100 public and private schools, both in school-based and non-school-based modalities, will participate in this recess period according to the current study plans and programs. He indicated that the spring break period is part of the established organization for the school cycle, which allows for the continuity of educational processes based on a previously defined national schedule. Regarding Higher Education, he explained that it will be the university authorities who will determine the corresponding recess periods for more than 11,700 public and private schools, where 5.6 million students study and more than 529,200 teachers work. Finally, the head of the SEP reiterated that all provisions are applied in accordance with the official calendar, which ensures certainty in the dates of school recess and resumption of activities throughout the country.
