Monday, November 18 is a holiday in Mexico, for the Mexican Revolution. Banks will be closed, but ATMs will continue to operate. Prepare your operations in advance.

Holiday for the Mexican Revolution

Monday, November 18 will be a mandatory day off for formal workers and students of schools affiliated with the Ministry of Public Education, according to the Federal Labor Law and the calendar of the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV). That day will not be a business day for the financial entities supervised by the CNBV, so users are advised to take precautions as banking facilities will be closed until Tuesday, November 19.

Regarding the mass closure of banks, it is clarified that it does not apply to ATMs, so users will still be able to carry out regular operations, such as withdrawing money. Both workers and students have the right to rest at least on Monday, November 18, and it is noted that the previous weekend, from Saturday, November 16 to Sunday, November 17, could be a workday depending on the employers' arrangements.

The reason for this holiday is the commemoration of the Mexican Revolution, although the official date of this event is November 20. However, authorities have moved the celebration to Monday, November 18 to create a long weekend that allows workers, students, and teachers to enjoy an extended weekend. For this reason, there will be no classes at the basic, upper secondary, and higher education levels next Monday. It is important for the community to take precautions and be informed about this.
