Suspension of Suburban Train Service

The Suburban Train has suspended its service again, this time on the stretch between the Lerma and Santa Fe stations. The interruption is due to work on the track, according to El Tren Insurgente, indicating they hope to restore service soon.

Additionally, last Friday there was another suspension at the Santa Fe station, although operations resumed a few hours later without giving details about the causes of the interruption. On the other hand, it was reported that the Zinacantepec, Toluca Centro, Metepec, and Lerma stations are functioning normally.

The Santa Fe station was inaugurated on August 31 and opened to the public the following day. The Insurgent Train, which connects Toluca with Mexico City, spans 58 km from Zinacantepec to the Observatorio station in the capital. This route crosses five municipalities in the State of Mexico and two boroughs of CDMX, with a total of seven stations.

This train operates with an initial fleet of 20 electric trains with five cars, at a maximum speed of 160 km/h and a capacity of 719 passengers each.
