The Secretariat of State Security of Mexico (SSEM) has implemented a special operation on the occasion of Buen Fin, maintaining aerial surveillance over nearly 500 shopping centers and deploying more than 3,000 State Police personnel on the ground. So far, it is reported that the operation has resulted in no incidents.
In support of this strategy, a helicopter from the Lightning Air Group and 18 drones have been added to supervise the areas of greatest economic activity in the 125 municipalities of the State of Mexico. Instructions have been issued by Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez for the security deployment to begin at midnight on November 15 and extend until 24:00 hours on Monday, November 18.
Furthermore, ground patrols have been implemented with 1,220 units, 25 canine and equine pairs patrolling the streets, and 20,000 cameras operated 24 hours a day from the Control, Command, Communication, Computing, and Quality Center (C5) based in Toluca and Ecatepec.
The SSEM stated: "This provides security and peace of mind to the people of Mexico State to make their purchases, as well as to the 19,000 companies participating in this 14th edition of Buen Fin, 1,296 banking institutions, and 6,042 ATMs."
