Staff Training for Victim Assistance in Guanajuato

In Guanajuato, training sessions were held mainly for public security personnel, municipal women's institutes, and DIF systems. These sectors play a crucial role in the immediate assistance to people in vulnerable situations. According to Article 115 of the Victims Law of the State of Guanajuato, municipalities are responsible for implementing policies aligned with state and national strategies, as well as training their staff to ensure an efficient response.

Local authorities are the first to provide support to victims, which underscores the importance of their preparation. These actions seek not only to comply with current legislation but also to foster a fairer, more empathetic, and safer environment for victims. The training offered also aims to raise awareness among public servants about the impact of violence and the importance of humane treatment.

The State Commission for Comprehensive Attention to Victims (CEAIV) highlights that these initiatives aim to strengthen Guanajuato's response capacity to the issue of violence, especially in a context where the Gender Alert remains active in several municipalities. The training program, coordinated by the Public Policy Directorate, aimed to strengthen the competencies of first-contact personnel, whose role is crucial in emergency and vulnerability situations.

During the training sessions, key topics were addressed, such as 'Municipal Attention to Victims within the Framework of the Gender Alert', 'Men Committed to Violence Prevention', and the 'State Model for Comprehensive Attention to Victims'. In an effort to ensure that victims of violence receive appropriate and timely attention, CEAIV concluded the training of 5,229 public servants from the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato.
