The General Director of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), Martí Batres Guadarrama, met with representatives from the 565 first-level clinics of the institution to present the guidelines of the 'The Clinic is Ours' 2025 Program. This program aims to promote community participation and allocate resources to the specific needs of each medical unit.
Accompanied by the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, and the head of IMSS Bienestar, Alejandro Svarch Pérez, Batres highlighted that this initiative will allow communities to decide how to invest the allocated resources. 'The Clinic is Ours' seeks to foster trust and coordinated work between the population and the Government, allowing resources to be managed directly by the communities.
Alejandro Svarch Pérez, head of IMSS Bienestar, emphasized that the program is a commitment to territorial management in health and the empowerment of communities. Batres underscored that each unit has unique needs and that the program will adapt to them. 'All of them will have the support of the 'The Clinic is Ours' Program,' he assured.
The Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel, detailed that communities could undertake various improvement actions, such as standardizing the image of the Institute, waterproofing, and improving electrical and sanitary facilities. 'Involving communities in decisions related to their clinics is not just a requirement but the engine of health transformation,' she stated.
During the event, high-ranking officials from ISSSTE supported the implementation of this program as part of the 25-point Plan for the Transformation of ISSSTE, under the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum. 'It is the community that will decide how to invest the resources given to them,' she stated, emphasizing the importance of strengthening social fabric and proximity between ISSSTE and its beneficiaries.
The program will be implemented through the establishment of a Health and Welfare Committee (COSABI) in each clinic, which will consist of community members. Among those present were the Director of Representation Offices of ISSSTE, Rodrigo Ávila Carrasco; the Director of Administration and Finance of ISSSTE, Omar Butrón Fosado; the Director of SuperISSSTE, Dunia Ludlow Deloya; the Director of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits of ISSSTE, Juan Gerardo López Hernández; the Medical Director of ISSSTE, Gustavo Reyes Terán; and the Deputy Director of Beneficiary Care, María del Rocío Vilchis Espinosa.
