The Government of the State of Nuevo León has announced the return to in-person classes in Basic Education schools starting January 23. The educational community will be able to return to campuses on regular days and hours, thanks to more favorable weather conditions.
The Ciberaprende platform will continue to be available to support teachers with tutorials and digital resources. Despite the expected increase in temperature, the educational community is advised to stay informed about Civil Protection recommendations. It is estimated that around 1 million 78 thousand students will return to classrooms.
The return to classes has been a contentious issue in the state, as on January 9 Governor Samuel García announced that returning to classes would be optional due to the arrival of a cold front. On that date, only 5% of students attended schools. However, on January 13, during another Flag Ceremony, there was a greater presence of students in classrooms.
The return to in-person classes represents an important step for the educational community of Nuevo León, which will now be able to continue their studies in person, utilizing the available tools and applications to enhance the educational process. Given the new weather conditions, this return is expected to be successful and beneficial for all students and teachers involved.
