Years ago, a child with hemophilia returned to the hospital with renewed hopes and dreams, reflecting a significant transformation in the care of this disease in Mexico. Ivonne Islas Arvizu, who has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than two decades, particularly focused on hemophilia for the last 13 years, has witnessed this evolution.
In her opinion, the management and treatment of hemophilia in Mexico have undergone a radical change. Currently, access to treatments in the country matches international standards, notably improving patients' lives. Previously, the situation was different, with limitations in the care of the disease.
Islas Arvizu highlights that her work goes beyond commerce and focuses on promoting programs that prepare healthcare professionals and ensure innovative and safe treatments for patients. Thanks to joint efforts from doctors, researchers, and leaders of organizations, significant advances have been achieved.
Despite the achievements, challenges still remain. Previously, treatment was limited to interventions to control bleeding or injuries. The current goal is for all patients, regardless of their situation, to receive the necessary tools to lead a full and happy life.
Islas Arvizu recalls with impact the case of a child with severe hemophilia who could access the necessary treatments and care to improve his quality of life, leaving behind physical and emotional limitations, thanks to a dedicated medical team. Through the dedication and collaboration of all those involved, she trusts that progress will continue towards a promising future for the hemophilia community in Mexico.
