
In the State of Mexico, the Hoy No Circula program will be active this Saturday, February 1, and will affect several localities, such as Atizapán de Zaragoza, Ixtapaluca, Coacalco de Berriozábal, La Paz, Cuautitlán, Naucalpan de Juárez, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Nezahualcóyotl, Chalco, Nicolás Romero, Chimalhuacán, Tecámac, Chicoloapan, Tlalnepantla de Baz, Ecatepec de Morelos, Tultitlan, Huixquilucan, and Valle de Chalco.
The Hoy No Circula will apply to vehicles with license plates that end in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, and 9) with hologram 1, as well as vehicles with hologram 2 and foreign cars. However, vehicles with holograms 0 and 00, healthcare workers, ambulances, disabled people with the corresponding permit, and electric vehicles are exempt from this restriction.
The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis has not declared an environmental contingency, so there will be no double Hoy No Circula this Saturday, February 1. This program is implemented to reduce pollution when air quality is considered unsatisfactory.
This measure applies in 16 municipalities of Mexico City and 18 municipalities of the State of Mexico, all belonging to the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico. It is important to remember that Hoy No Circula aims to reduce pollution, and it is recommended to comply with it to help improve air quality in the capital.
