
The Mexican armed forces have seized four tons of methamphetamines that were hidden in dog food packages in the community of Playas del Rosarito, located in Baja California, near the border with the United States. The seizure took place after a raid on a property in Baja California, where the four tons of drugs were secured.
During the operation, around four tons of methamphetamine were seized in 3,209 packages, along with a firearm, 64 cartridges, a tractor-trailer, and a pickup truck. It was detected that the drug shipment was hidden in the cargo area of a trailer coming from the state of Sinaloa and destined for California, United States.
In another action, agents intercepted a passenger bus on Mexico Highway 15, at kilometer 61, on the Santa Ana-Hermosillo stretch. After a security review, they found 36 packages of blue fentanyl pills and two packages of heroin in the spare tire compartment, weighing approximately 18 kilograms and two kilograms, respectively. Two men were arrested in relation to this discovery.
Both operations involved the participation of agents from the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Attorney General's Office, the Secretary of National Defense, the Secretary of the Navy, the National Guard, and the Secretary of Citizen Security and Protection.
The head of Security of the Mexican Government, Omar GarcĂa Harfuch, recently reported that drug trafficking cartels have lost millions of pesos due to actions taken during the first four months of Claudia Sheinbaum's presidency in Mexico, as a result of the pressure exerted by the Administration of Donald Trump in the United States to address issues such as drug and migrant trafficking at the border.
