The prison change comes after concerns arose regarding the conditions in which he had been held at the Barrientos Penitentiary since last year. This incident could be key in his legal defense, as his lawyers may use it as an argument to request the reopening of his case.
Authorities in the State of Mexico have taken immediate measures, dismissing the guards responsible for the aggression and the director of the prison. The diagnosis of neurological immaturity conducted by forensic psychologist Laura Alor, hired by his former lawyer Érick Rauda, revealed that Fofo suffers from dyslexia and other neurological disorders that hinder his ability to comprehend written texts. These issues prevent him from reading and writing fluently, posing a challenge for his comprehensive understanding of information.
Fofo's seemingly inappropriate attitude during the hearings, where he has been seen smiling at critical moments, should not be interpreted as cynicism, the expert clarified. According to Alor, this reaction is a manifestation of the anxiety caused by his neurological condition.
