The Secretary of Health of Guanajuato (SSG) announced the conclusion of the Peregrino 2025 Operation, which focused on providing medical attention and health surveillance to more than 254 thousand pilgrims who crossed the region heading to San Juan de los Lagos.

During the operation, 466 medical attentions were provided, highlighting the most common ailments such as acute respiratory infections, diarrheal diseases, muscle contractions, dehydration, and extreme fatigue. Additionally, 14 ambulance transfers were made to second and third-level medical units due to the severity of some cases.

The Health Risk Protection Areas carried out surveillance and health promotion actions, overseeing hygiene in food handling, water quality, and sanitation conditions at rest points. Regarding epidemiological surveillance, there were no reported suspected cases of diseases of epidemiological interest, thus ensuring that the movement of pilgrims posed no risk to public health.

The Peregrino 2025 Operation was deployed at strategic attention points in localities such as Irapuato and Salamanca, where overnight spaces with medical services, drinking water, and toilets were set up to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims. The Secretary of Health, Gabriel Cortés Alcalá, emphasized the importance of the preventive approach coordinated by the SSG in this operation, highlighting that the attention provided contributed to reducing health risks and ensured safe transit for the worshippers.
