The popular gym chain Smart Fit in Mexico announced today the death of a person in its facilities located in Paseo Zamora, Michoacán, due to a "direct armed attack." Additionally, it was reported that a user was injured in the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The company expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and assured that they are providing all necessary support to the injured woman. They also highlighted their collaboration with authorities to clarify the events and determine responsibilities.
Smart Fit emphasized the importance of respect and safety as fundamental pillars for building a solid community where everyone can train with peace of mind. The fatal victim was identified as Víctor 'P', who served as the second commander of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Municipal police and members of the Secretary of National Defense arrived at the scene to cordon off the area and provide support in the necessary tasks after the 35-year-old victim was executed in front of the gym attendees.
