Strengthening Immunization in Mexico

The Diploma in Immunizations Vaccinology 360° seeks to improve vaccination rates and prepare health professionals for epidemic outbreaks in Mexico and Latin America.

The weakening of vaccination programs, misinformation, and lack of equitable access to vaccines have led to a concerning decline in immunization rates, leaving entire communities vulnerable. In response to this urgent need, the Diploma in Immunization Vaccinology 360° has emerged, an initiative of Continuing Medical Education online aimed at doctors, nurses, and health professionals.

This program aims to provide knowledge about existing and developing vaccines, strengthen the response capacity to epidemic outbreaks, and reinforce confidence in vaccination as a fundamental pillar of public health. Key benefits of Vaccinology 360° include updates on immunization, improved decision-making, prevention of outbreaks and preventable diseases, and strengthening the health system.

Dr. Romero Cabello, the program's lead professor, emphasized: "This program seeks to transform and update professional practice. The depth and quality of the information we will share will allow physicians to offer significantly improved levels of care to their patients, contributing to the strengthening of public health in our country."

The Diploma began on February 4, and thanks to technology, each class can be studied at the date and time that suits each participant best. In light of the low vaccination coverage in Mexico and Latin America, the goal is to prevent outbreaks and strengthen the immunization system to avoid major health crises. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has made it evident that immunization is the most effective tool for protecting the health of the population.

In the words of Dr. Romero Cabello, a call is made to all health professionals interested in enhancing their professional competence: "I invite you to be part of this Continuing Medical Education effort. Together we can build a healthier future prepared to face any challenge."
