The Prosecutor's Office of Nuevo León is taking legal action against the person who recorded a video of the discovery of Ana Carolina Saucedo's body on Cerro de las Mitras. Prosecutor Raúl Alejandro Sepúlveda Martínez reported that a summons has been issued for the responsible person to explain their actions and to notify protective measures for the victim's family, with the aim of preventing the dissemination of inappropriate images.
In the past, it was common to wait between 24 and 72 hours to report a person missing, but now authorities are urged to be informed immediately upon noticing an absence. The Prosecutor's Office for Missing Persons has modified its protocols to initiate search actions in a coordinated manner as soon as a disappearance is reported, in collaboration with various public entities.
According to Prosecutor Sepúlveda Martínez, the disappearances of women in Nuevo León tend to concentrate in an age range of 11 to 25 years, with a higher incidence in the metropolitan area. The importance of early reporting by family members is emphasized to maximize the chances of location.
The specialized prosecutor in Femicide and Crimes Against Women, Griselda Núñez, expressed her disapproval of the dissemination of sensitive images related to cases of violence. In the case of Ana Carolina Saucedo, the sharing of the video of the discovery of her body was considered inappropriate and against the respect required for the dignity of the victim and her family. Prosecutor Sepúlveda Martínez reiterated the importance of promptly reporting disappearances and the need to act with sensitivity and respect in such delicate situations.
