Indignation in Tultitlan Over Abandoned Newborn

In the State of Mexico, the abandonment of a baby in Tultitlan has generated outrage among the population. Two young individuals, aged 18 and 21, presumed to be the parents of the minor, are being investigated by the Edomex Prosecutor's Office. The incident became public on February 12 through a video on social media showing one of the young people leaving the newborn wrapped in a bag on Lavanda Street, Fuentes del Valle neighborhood.

In an interview, the baby's mother, identified as Diana, explained that she gave birth to the child in the bathroom of her workplace, and later handed it over to the father, who allegedly abandoned it on the street. The woman stated that she had no further contact with the father of her child and learned about what happened through social media.

The baby's father voluntarily presented himself at the General Prosecutor's Office of Mexico City and was transferred to the Justice Center for Women in Cuautitlan Izcalli. The Edomex Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation against both parents for putting the baby's life at risk. Lucio faces charges of attempted deliberate infanticide and omission of care, while it is being examined whether the mother should be prosecuted for abandonment.

The baby is stable at the Regional Specialty Hospital "Bicentennial of Independence" in Tultitlan. The Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers reported that the baby's health is good and is being closely monitored by medical staff. Once discharged, the minor will be taken in by the local DIF.

WhatsApp messages have been leaked between Lucio and Diana suggesting that both were aware of the baby's abandonment. Although the authenticity of these messages has not been verified, the content reflects the possible complicity of the two young individuals in the abandonment of the newborn.
