Newborn Abandoned in Tultitlan: Investigation Launched

A newborn was allegedly abandoned by its father on a street in Tultitlán, according to the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico. The case is being investigated with a gender perspective and children's rights, as they could face charges of abandonment. The baby will be cared for by the municipal DIF before being handed over to their relatives.

The mother of the newborn, Diana Jaciel "N", voluntarily went to report her partner, Lucio David "N", for possible involvement in the abandonment. Lucio David also voluntarily appeared before the authorities to respond to the accusations. The Attorney General's Office initiated an investigation against both for endangering the baby's life.

The newborn is receiving medical attention in a hospital in the region in good health. A conversation leaked via WhatsApp revealed that the parents had allegedly agreed to get rid of the child, suggesting abandoning him in a canal. Once discharged, he will be sheltered by the municipal DIF.

The incident took place last Monday in Tultitlán, where a person left the baby in a bag next to a vehicle. A neighbor alerted the authorities upon hearing the child's cries. The municipal police and paramedics provided urgent attention to the minor.

Diana Jaciel was initially unaware of her partner's reasons for abandoning the baby, so the local DIF will take charge of his care to safeguard his wellbeing, as requested by the Public Ministry.
