
A control judge has ordered justified preventive imprisonment for Lucio David, 18 years old, and Diana Jaciel, 22 years old, who face charges of attempted homicide for abandoning their newborn baby on the public road in Tultitlán on February 11.
In the initial hearing that took place on Sunday in Cuautitlán, the judge considered the detention of both legal and supported the arguments and evidence presented by the prosecutor's office, ruling the precautionary measure of preventive imprisonment. The hearing for linking the process is scheduled for February 20.
Lucio will remain detained at the Cuautitlán Prison and Reintegration Center, while Diana will remain at the Barrientos prison in Tlalnepantla. The investigation by the prosecutor's office began after Diana Jaciel voluntarily visited the Public Ministry to report Lucio for abandoning the baby. Subsequently, Lucio presented himself to the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City.
The baby was admitted to the Bicentennial Independence Regional High Specialty Hospital of ISSSTE in Tultitlán. According to ISSSTE director, Martí Batres, the baby is in good condition after spending several days in the hospital.
According to a medical report, the baby, estimated to have a gestational age of 36 weeks, shows stable vital signs and good overall health. He is tolerating formula milk and shows no signs of infection. He is expected to remain under close medical observation for positive development in the coming days.
