President Claudia Sheinbaum assured that her Government will combat school bullying, following the case of Fátima Mayte, a teenager who was allegedly pushed from the third floor of a school in Mexico City due to her interest in K-pop. During her press conference, the leader promised to strengthen mechanisms to prevent and address bullying, avoiding serious consequences.

In response to the case of the 13-year-old girl allegedly pushed from the third floor of a school in Iztapalapa, Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of stopping any form of violence in educational centers and providing support to affected individuals and families. The Attorney General's Office of Mexico City is investigating the incident, which occurred on February 4 at Secondary School No. 236.

The Ministry of Public Education reported that Fátima Mayte remains hospitalized with a favorable evolution. Civil society has expressed outrage over this case, demanding justice, as has the Embassy of South Korea in Mexico, which condemned the bullying suffered by the girl due to her love for K-pop.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado, stated that there is no evidence that the minor was pushed from the third floor. He emphasized the need to wait to gather all the information to understand what happened and not to victimized the teenager. So far, Fátima has not made any statements regarding this matter.
