Tragic Case of Fátima: A Victim of School Bullying

Juan Zavala pointed out in an interview with Azucena Uresti that all speculations surrounding his daughter's case, Fátima, are unfounded and there is a crime behind what happened. The father of the minor indicated that Fátima had previously reported the aggressions from her classmates to school authorities and had already been diagnosed with depression. For his part, the head of the SEP, Mario Delgado, confirmed that the Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case and so far they have not found evidence that Fátima was pushed.

Fátima Mayté, a 13-year-old student and K-pop fan, suffered a fracture of the hip and pelvis after falling from a third floor at the day secondary school 236 in the Iztapalapa borough of Mexico City. Her father mentioned that the minor is still in delicate condition and, for that reason, has not been able to testify before the authorities. It was reported that Fátima had reported the bullying she was experiencing and that in the incident on the day it occurred, she was also a victim of cyberbullying.

Fátima's father criticized the statements of the Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado, for dismissing the existence of evidence supporting the aggression suffered by the teenager. He clarified that while there is a video on social media showing an aggression against another student, it is not related to Fátima's case, which is still under investigation. Juan Zavala expressed his discontent with Delgado's statements, highlighting that no one from the school has approached them to provide explanations and they have only received supportive messages from K-pop and Asian culture fans.

Fátima's situation has caused shock, as it was revealed that the minor was pushed into the void simply for being a K-pop fan, which triggered severe physical aggression in her school environment. Her case was reported to school authorities, but unfortunately, no timely action was taken to prevent the bullying.
