Free Water Tank Program Launched in Iztacalco

The Iztacalco mayor's office has launched the social action called "Tinaco Delivery" aimed primarily at benefiting families led by single mothers. In response to the water crisis affecting various neighborhoods, districts, and towns in the region, one million pesos will be allocated for the purchase of tinacos with a capacity of 1,100 liters, which will be given free of charge to households in vulnerable situations.

Deliveries of the tinacos began on February 15 and will continue until supplies run out or until December 31, 2025. The program prioritizes pregnant women or those in the breastfeeding period, people with disabilities, elderly adults, those affected by natural or social disasters, and people in situations of social abandonment. Residents with deficiencies in basic services, food, education, or housing can also request a tinaco, although preference will be given to priority groups.

To receive a tinaco, Iztacalco residents must meet certain requirements and present documentation such as valid official identification, proof of address, and an application form. The application process takes place at the General Directorate of Citizen Participation, located in the main building from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Once the application is approved, beneficiaries will be informed about the delivery details, which can be made at home in case of limited mobility or disability. There is also the option to pick up the tinaco at the mentioned offices. The initiative aims to improve the living conditions of the most needy families in Iztacalco, providing them with a solution for their basic water needs.
