Toyota Announces Recall for Hybrid Models in Mexico

The automotive company Toyota, in collaboration with the Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco), has issued a call to owners of certain vehicle models to come for inspection due to manufacturing defects that will be corrected at no cost.

In the case of the 2022-2023 Hybrid Tundra, 575 units have been identified with thermal risk due to an issue in the plastic fuel tube that could cause a leak by rubbing against a brake line. The proposed solution by Toyota is to replace the fuel tube with an improved one and add additional clamps to prevent this issue.

On the other hand, the 2023 Avanza model has a warning for 493 vehicles where the weld strength of the side impact beam is insufficient, which could affect its performance. The company will install an additional support inside the right door to ensure the correct functioning of this safety feature.

Regarding the 2024 Tacoma, variations in the size of a seal have been detected in 386 units, which could allow for water or moisture leakage in a connector of the active grille shutter. To solve this problem, an inspection of the harness connector will be carried out and the harness will be replaced if necessary.

Toyota is committed to contacting the owners of the affected vehicles, although it is also possible to check if a specific vehicle requires inspection by entering the details into a dedicated hotline set up for this purpose. For more information or to schedule an inspection, one can access Toyota's official website, call the indicated telephone number, or send an email with the relevant data.
