Renata was admitted to the hospital on February 19 due to severe pain in her left arm, and she was given a preliminary diagnosis of a possible cardiovascular problem due to the immunotherapy she was receiving. After various tests, it was found that she also had fluid in her lungs. The actress informed that she will undergo more tests, including a contrast application for a new diagnosis and the administration of injections to prevent thrombosis.
The cancer that Renata del Castillo is suffering from is cervical at stage 4, medically classified as terminal phase. The disease has caused metastasis and affects other organs and parts of her body, like the spine, which has led her to use a wheelchair. The actress has made it clear that although she is facing a difficult diagnosis, she does not consider it a death sentence, and emphasizes that she still needs courage to face the situation.
In the past, in November 2024, Renata del Castillo was also hospitalized to undergo surgeries related to her cancer. On that occasion, she requested blood and platelet donors through her social media.
