Escobedo Implements Cold Weather Support Initiatives

The municipal government of Escobedo is taking measures to protect the most vulnerable sectors during low temperatures. Strategies have been implemented, and support is being provided to help families cope with the cold. Since the afternoon of Wednesday and during Thursday, municipal staff and police have been touring neighborhoods and establishing fixed points to deliver blankets, hot drinks, and cookies to those on the street.

Mayor Andrés Mijes has reiterated that in the 4T Northern region there is no place for improvisation and that they are prepared to support the community, protect families, and shelter everyone in need. On Wednesday afternoon, the staff from the Municipal Presidency visited various neighborhoods in the northwest area, starting the distribution of blankets in the Villas de San Francisco neighborhood, where each home was visited.

Starting at 5:00 AM on Thursday, the Proxpol Contigo en el Frío operation was launched at various points to offer hot drinks and cookies to citizens. In the morning, the police were present at bus stops located in different neighborhoods of the region. All these actions complement the efforts made by Municipal Civil Protection, which are focused on safeguarding the population in vulnerable situations due to low temperatures.

Additionally, it is reported that the shelter in the Fernando Amilpa neighborhood, located at Piña and Blas Chumacero next to the DIF Center, is active. Citizens who identify people on the street needing support or families in vulnerable conditions can contact Civil Protection at the phone number 818 397 2911. These operations will continue on days when lower temperatures are forecast.
