
A fire at a rehabilitation center for drug addicts located on Vista Hermosa Street, in the Tlalpan borough, has claimed the lives of at least five people and left another six injured, who are being treated at nearby hospitals. Authorities are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
Tlalpan Mayor Gabriela Osorio confirmed that initial reports from authorities indicate that five people lost their lives at the private rehabilitation center in San Miguel Topilejo. For its part, the Security Secretariat reported that the Prosecutor's Office has been notified of the events "to carry out forensic services and begin investigations."
Additionally, the central government has ensured that "the person responsible for the center and four other individuals will be brought before the Public Prosecutor's Office to provide statements." The situation is still developing, and more information is expected as investigations progress.
