The 13-year-old teenager Fatima Maite remains hospitalized and her case has generated controversy in Mexico City. The Mexico City Prosecutor's Office has indicated that there is no evidence that the young girl was pushed by anyone, nor that she was accompanied at the time of the incident at her secondary school on February 4.
According to the prosecutor's office, Fatima did not fall from a third floor, as previously reported, but from the first floor, since the educational institution only has two levels. Investigations have suggested that the incident occurred during classes and not during a recess. Despite the severity of what happened, it has been reported that the young girl's health has been improving favorably.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado, has stated that there is no evidence indicating that Fatima was pushed. He expressed that no version suggesting that the teenager was pushed can be confirmed, and he has dismissed the victimization in this case.
Fatima's family has denied Delgado's statements regarding the minor's health status. They have stated that Fatima has undergone surgeries to repair the fractures suffered in different parts of her body. The situation has generated discontent with the authorities, even calling for the dismissal of the official for lack of empathy and seriousness regarding the case.
Fatima's father, Juan 'Z', has pointed out that Mario Delgado's statements are false and that they feel abandoned by the authorities, highlighting a lack of prior attention to the harassment that his daughter was a victim of. Fatima is still in the process of recovery and will require more medical interventions due to the severity of her injuries.
